Senior citizens plan to meet on Tuesday
WELCOME – This weekend will be the last days of August. The Labor Day holiday is Monday. It doesn’t seem like summer should be over so soon.
Welcome Historical Society will not have museum hours Saturday, Sept. 6, since it is having heating and cooling work done on the museum and access to the items and bathroom may be unavailable.
Regular hours will resume on the first Saturday in April. Appointments to see the museum can be made by calling Welcome City Hall at (507) 728-8740.
Welcome area senior citizens will meet Tuesday instead of their usual first Monday of the month since this Monday is Labor Day.
They’ll meet at noon for their potluck meal, with fellowship to follow at Welcome Legion.
All area senior citizens are welcome to join them. Please pass the word as to this change of dates to Tuesday instead of Monday for the September meeting only.
Welcome Legion, Sons of the Legion and Auxiliary will have a special membership meal 5 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Legion.
Paid-up members will have free chicken and sweet corn. Memberships can be paid that night. Guests and the public are welcome to join them for a charge of $5.
Waverly Lutheran Church will have services 8:30 a.m. Sunday, and then they will revert to their winter schedule when services will be held at 10:30 a.m. starting in September.
Members are asked to please pass the word.
Another sign that summer is past.
