TRUMAN – A memorial visitation for Arlo Manzke, 71, Truman, Minn., will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman.
Arlo died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at his home in Truman. Private family inurnment will be held Friday, Aug. 29, at Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont.
Arlo Manzke was born Dec. 9, 1942, in Fairmont, Minn., to Harold and Fern (Plath) Manzke. He attended country school until grade 4; Armstrong, Iowa, Public School; and was a graduate of Welcome High School in 1960. On Feb. 10, 1964, Arlo was united in marriage to RoseAnne Keech in Sioux Falls, S.D. They were blessed with three children; Bruce (Mary) of Sarasota, Fla., Kendra Dobie (Daryl) of Fairmont, Minn., and Zeb (Laura) of Welcome, Minn. They had seven grandsons, two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. Arlo was employed at Fairmont Railway Motors for 33 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trap/sporting clays shooter.
Arlo is survived by his twin sister, Ardis Schleininger (Leon); and sisters, Lois Martinez and Jane Thoren (Ralph); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Jim Keech and Richard Keech (Elaine); sisters-in-law, Kathy Manzke, Darlyne Thormodson, Mardelle Nelson (Paul) and Delores Arduser (George).
Arlo was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Duane, Jim and Marlin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be given to: Truman Gun Club, East Chain Gun Club and United Hospital District Home Health & Hospice, Blue Earth, Minn.
