St. James Lutheran School to sell cookies

The Cookie Shack from St. James Lutheran School in Northrop will sell fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies and milk during the Martin County Fair, to be held Aug. 11-17, in the Godfather’s Pizza Food Stand at the fairgrounds. They offer free morning break delivery to businesses. Minimum order of one dozen cookies. To ensure same-day delivery, call Sue at (507) 920-8479 by 8:30 a.m. each day. All proceeds will go toward curriculum and education resources for the school.

Class of 1949 to meet Tuesday

Fairmont High School class of 1949 will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

Diabetes group plans Wednesday meeting

Adult Diabetic Support Group will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday in the main classroom of the hospital at Mayo Clinic Health System, Fairmont. (Enter through the main hospital doors and watch for signs.) Quilt Expo slated next week in Blue Earth

Preparations are being finalized for the 31st annual Upper Midwest Woodcarvers and Quilt Expo to be held Aug. 15-17 at Blue Earth Area High School. Quilts are still being accepted for display. Quilts and quilted items that have not appeared in previous expos are welcome. Heartland Embroidery and the Chamber of Commerce in downtown Blue Earth, as well as Calico Hutch Quilt Shop in Hayward, remain drop-off points for quilts.
