SAVAGE – Funeral services for Clarice Kleinschrodt, 92, of Savage, Minn., formerly of Truman, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.
Clarice died on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at her home in Savage. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2014, and one hour prior to services Thursday at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman.
Clarice Ann Cottew was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Rutland Township, Martin County, Minn., to Claire and Flora (Robertson) Cottew. She attended country school District 80 and graduated from Granada High School in 1939. On July 3, 1940, Clarice was united in marriage to LeRoy Kleinschrodt. They farmed for 39 years and lived on the same farm for 55 years. They moved to Truman in 1998. Clarice was a longtime member of the Truman Church of Christ, the Cloverleaf Club and Westford Happy Homemaker Club. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, dancing, fishing and traveling. Clarice and LeRoy spent many winters in Arizona and traveled to all 50 states.
Clarice is survived by two granddaughters, Lori (Tim) Rathjen of Savage, Minn., and Kristi (Chris) Griffith of Savage, Minn.; 10 great-grandchildren, James, Jason, Steven, Joshua, Brandon, Jessica, William, Bridgette, Benjamin, Andrea; two great-great-grandchildren, Skye and Jase; one daughter-in-law, Della Murray; one remaining sibling, Donna (Harold) Bowers of St. James, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, LeRoy; her only child, Richard; five brothers, Darvin, Blayne, Lyle, Denzin, Irvin; one sister, Faye; and grandson, Michael.
