Exchange Club to meet today
Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon today at Green Mill, Fairmont. The program will feature Kurt Barickman, who will talk about his war memorabilia collection. Lakesters to hold meeting tonight
Lakesters Car Club will hold its August meeting 7 p.m. tonight in the meeting room at McDonald’s in Fairmont. All car enthusiasts are welcome to attend.
Early Risers to meet Wednesday
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature Eddie Murphy, representing the Martin County Fair Board, who will speak about highlights and events surrounding this year’s upcoming Martin County Fair. The public is invited to attend.
Fairmont Area plans registration
Fairmont Area Schools will hold student registration for the 2014-15 school year from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday in the media center at Fairmont High School. All students in grades 7-12 must have a school photo taken during registration. Students in grades K-6 may also have a photo taken at registration or they can wait to have a photo taken on Sept. 17 at Fairmont Elementary School.
Class of 1946 to hold Friday lunch
Fairmont High School class of 1946 will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont.
Heritage Acres schedules Sunday event
There will be an antique tractor display and threshing day on Sunday at Heritage Acres, Fairmont. The tractors will be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and threshing will be 1-4 p.m. There will also be corn shelling, rope making, foundry art, train rides for kids, and a treasure hunt. Fairmont Market Square will also be there selling various wares. The foodstand will open at 10 a.m. with grilled brats and all the trimmings, ice cream treats, beverages and other desserts. All buildings will be open and are handicap-accessible.
Reunion slated for Sunday
The Tietje family reunion will be held 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wilbert Church in Wilbert. There will be a potluck meal. Dishes, utensils and beverages will be furnished. All family members are encouraged to attend.
