Valley Vue schedules community events
Valley Vue Care Center of Armstrong will host two free blood pressure and blood glucose clinics next week. There will be a clinic 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the 915 Cafe in Armstrong. They also will hold a clinic 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Spring Creek Assisted Living in Armstrong. The public is encouraged to attend these events. Legion Auxiliary sets meeting
Fairmont American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36 will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont. All members and anyone who is interested in the Auxiliary is encouraged to attend.
Benefit dinner Wednesday in Huntley
A benefit spaghetti supper for Tracy and Katy Johnson of Huntley will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Community Covenant Church in Huntley. Tracy has been unable to work for the past 3 1/2 years due to an undiagnosed medical condition. This will be a free-will donation. A bake and craft sale also will be held. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Interlaken to hold ladies golf event
The 2014 Interlaken Golf Club Ladies Glam-A-Rama will be held Aug. 10. This will be an 18-hole, four-woman Texas four-ball scramble, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Must be 21 years of age to participate. The cost of entry fee is $45 plus a $15 cart fee. The entry fee includes: golf, a buffet, flag prizes, jello shots and chocolate.
