Exchange Club sets meeting for today
Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon today at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature Fairmont Police Chief Greg Brolsma, who will talk for a second installment about the drug culture and police work in Fairmont. Early Risers Kiwanis to meet
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. With this being the fifth Wednesday of the month, they will have committee meetings for the program. The public is invited to attend.
Annual event slated Friday in Sherburn
Sherburn Area Task Force will hold its 3rd annual Red, White, and Brew Review, a wine- and beer-tasting event, from 6-10 p.m. Friday at the Sherburn Fire Hall. This event is for adults over the age of 21. Besides the opportunity to taste a selection of fine wines and beer, they will have entertainment by area musicians, a classic car show and many vendors. Food, beverages, antiques and unique gifts will be available for purchase. Tickets for this event are $20 and may be purchased at Bank Midwest in Sherburn, Sherburn Nursery and Floral, the Old Alley Quilt Shop, or from any Sherburn Task Force member. Proceeds will go toward a permanent expansion of the Sherburn Theatre stage and other community projects.
Rose Lake to host upcoming tournament
The seventh annual Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure golf outing will be held Aug. 7 at Rose Lake Golf Club, east of Fairmont. They are seeking four-person teams and will be using a two-person best ball format. The cost is $50 per person, which includes 9 holes of golf, cart rental and dinner.
