Class of 1964 to hold 50th reunion

Fairmont High School class of 1964 will celebrate its 50th class reunion Friday and Saturday. There will be a warm-up at Serenade’s on the Lake on Friday night. St. Paul’s ladies to have bake sale

The ladies of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman will host a bake sale from 7-10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Truman Community Building. Proceeds will go toward teacherage improvements. Everyone is welcome.

Fairmont Summer Run set for Saturday

Runners and walkers are invited to participate in the 36th annual Fairmont Summer Run on Saturday at Fairmont High School, 900 Johnson St., in Fairmont. Race day registration, which costs $15, will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the field house at the high school; the 5-mile run starts at 8:30 a.m., the 2-mile run/walk is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., the quarter-mile run for ages, 9 and under, will get underway at 9:55 a.m., and the half-mile run for ages, 13 and under, will begin at 10 a.m. The awards program is planned for 10:15 a.m. All races will begin and end at the high school. Participants are encouraged to pre-register by today to guarantee a dry-fit shirt. To pre-register, go online at www.fairmont.k12.mn.us, go to “web stores,” and then Community Education and Recreation, or pre-register in person at the CER office in the Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. The fee for pre-registering will be $12. The race is free for children running the quarter- and half-mile races.

Humane Society plans bake sale

Martin County Humane Society will have a fundraiser bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Fleet and Farm Hardware, 1300 N. State St., in Fairmont. Anyone who wants to donate baked goods can drop them off anytime after 8 a.m Saturday. Proceeds are used to care for the homeless animals at Martin County Humane Society.

Hall of Fame open house slated Saturday

The City of Winnebago and the Winnebago Economic Development Authority will hold an open house reception for Jerry and Jane Poole, this year’s Winnebago Hall of Fame recipients, from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Winnebago Municipal Center in Winnebago. The public is invited.
