Sherburn Legion sets Saturday dinner

Sherburn American Legion Post 356 will hold a steak and shrimp fry from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Legion. Everyone is welcome.

Benefit breakfast scheduled Sunday

There will be a benefit pancake breakfast for Dennis Rademaker from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Fairmont Knights of Columbus Hall. Donations accepted. Dennis was diagnosed with stage-4 liver cancer in January and, due to complications, cannot receive any further chemotherapy. All proceeds will go toward medical expenses.

Red Rock to hold music event

There will be a hymn fest 7 p.m. Sunday at Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave., Fairmont. Refreshments will be served. The public is welcome to attend.

St. Paul’s of Truman plans luncheon

A salad and hot chicken sandwich luncheon will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. Take-outs are available. The price is $8 for adults. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Early Risers to sponsor fundraiser

Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will sponsor a fundraiser toward its Kiwanis International Project called “Project Eliminate” from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont. Club members will bus tables, greet customers and serve as wait staff. The project is dedicated to alleviating tetanus tragedies in Third World countries.

Women’s meeting slated for St. James

St. James Area Christian Women will hold its “Treasure Hunt” luncheon at noon Thursday in the club room at the St. James American Legion. Special feature by “The Depot” of St. James. Speaker will be Penny Brown of Ankeny, Iowa, and music will be provided by Callie Coleman of Ormsby. Reservations are necessary by Tuesday and can be made by calling Kathy at (507) 375-5046 or Joan at (507) 427-8943.
