Wanda J. Bloomquist

TRIMONT – Celebration of Life services for Wanda J. Bloomquist, 80, of Trimont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, with Rev. Arland Braaten-Lee, officiating. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Trimont, Minn.

Wanda was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2014, at Trimont Health Care Center in Trimont, Minn. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, July 11, 2014, at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont.

Wanda Jean Hansen was born June 27, 1934, in Monterey, Minn., to Emil and Irene (Kramer) Hansen. She attended country school district #110 through eighth grade and then graduated from Trimont High school in 1952. Wanda then was employed as a nurse’s aid at the Jackson Hospital. On Oct. 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wayne Bloomquist. After their marriage, they lived and farmed in Fox Lake Township and raised their family. She enjoyed farming, especially driving tractor and working along side of her husband during the harvest. Wanda enjoyed caring for her children as well as gardening, cooking and sewing. Wanda was a member of the Triumph Garden Club and was the fourth generation of known gardeners in Monterey and Triumph. She was a active member of First Lutheran Church and served on its Altar Guild. Wanda made the church altar cloth with Hardanger stitching. She also was a member of the Trimont Nursing Home Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Bloomquist of rural Trimont, Minn.; four daughters, Glenda Bloomquist of Trimont, Minn., Paula (John) Yocom of rural Emmons, Minn., Sheila (Paul) Bjelland of rural Lake Mills, Iowa, and Karna Bloomquist of Trimont, Minn.; son, Eric (Amy) Bloomquist of Trimont, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Hansen of rural Trimont, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Eunice Johnson of St. James, Minn., and Melva (Donovan) Ammann of rural Ormsby, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Harold (DiAnn) Bloomquist of rural Trimont, Minn., and Charles (Michele) Bloomquist of Los Alamitos, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lowell Hansen; son-in-law, Steven Wilds; sister-in-law, Donna Hansen; in-laws, Ron and Sharon Bloomquist, Floyd Johnson; and other relatives.
