Cleanup night slated next week
TRUMAN – Kids games are held 1:30-2:30 p.m. Mondays at the Truman Museum.

Many children have joined in the fun this summer, and new members are always welcome.
This month’s pickup for food items from Second Harvest Heartland will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
It’s hoped that more Truman area seniors, 60 and older, can pre-register to receive these food items.
The food is distributed to Trinity Lutheran Church on the third Wednesday of the month.
Trinity Lutheran, Truman Church of Christ and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church volunteers take turns in distributing the food boxes that come to Truman each month.
To be eligible to receive the food, you must call (800) 365-0207. Registration is an easy process.
Each month the food box contains canned fruit and vegetables, juice, peanut butter, canned meat, cereal, evaporated milk, cheese and other items.
A salad and hot chicken sandwich luncheon is being held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman.
Take-outs are available.
The price is $8 for adults.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Truman Community Education is sponsoring a trip to the Science Museum and Sky Zone for grades K-6 on July 23.
While at the Science Museum of Minnesota, students will enjoy an Omni film and explore the exhibits. Soon after, you will enjoy lunch and jump on the walls of trampoliner at Sky Zone.
Registration deadline is Wednesday. Register by calling Sue at Truman Community Education at (507) 776-2111, ext. 3915.
You must be accompanied by an adult.
Bring your own sack lunch and be sure to sign the Sky Zone waiver or you will not be able to attend. The fee is $18.
The second Truman cleanup night is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday. All volunteers, regardless of age, should meet at the park area next to the Truman Caf on Ciro Street.

A new shipment of reprinted St. Paul’s Lutheran Church’s original l972 “Kitchen Treasures” cookbook (the green one) are available by calling Bonnie Grefe at (507) 776-4671. They make nice gifts, and have 487 pages of wonderful recipes to make and enjoy.
The Truman Days all-city garage sale maps will be available on July 19 at Truman stores. Please don’t ask for them before that date.
The garage sales will begin noon July 24 and run through noon July 26.
Individual garage sale participants choose the days and hours of their sales. Those times and items they have for sale will be listed in the garage sale map and description flyers.
