David John Haycraft

MADELIA – Mass of Christian Burial for David John Haycraft, 68, will be 1 p.m. Friday at St.

Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Madelia.

He died at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis on Thursday, July 3, 2014, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia.

David was born Feb. 10, 1946, in St. James to Gordon and Mary (Madden) Haycraft. David enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1967 and served until his honorable discharge in 1971.

He is survived by his daughters, Holly Haycraft of Cottage Grove, Courtney Haycraft of Charleston, S.C., Gina Zelkin of Centennial, Colo., and Mandy Olson of Rochester; son, Eric Haycraft of Watertown; three grandchildren; brothers, Tom Haycraft of White Bear Lake, Brad Haycraft of Prior Lake, Butch Haycraft of Florence, Ariz., Mike Haycraft of Lewisville; sisters, Mary Pat Timmins of Urbandale, Iowa, and Anne Marie Olson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two aunts; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Haycraft; an aunt, Margaret Madden; and an uncle, Jim Madden.
