Richard L. Hoffman

MESA, Ariz. – Private family services for Richard L. Hoffman, 86, of Mesa, Ariz., will be held at a later date.

Richard passed away Sunday morning, June 29, 2014, at his home in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Richard Leo Hoffman was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Blue Grass, Minn., the son of Tony and Edith (Petersen) Hoffman. He attended school in Wadena, Minn. Richard then served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where upon completion of his service he received his honorable discharge. Richard was united in marriage to Marlene Powley. He worked for many years as a depot agent and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking and construction.

Left to cherish his memory are: his children, Dick Hoffman and his wife, Donna, of Fairmont, Minn., Nancy Russman and her husband, Dennis, of Bancroft, Neb., and Vicki Auer and her husband, Bob, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other extended family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Edith Hoffman; wife, Marlene Hoffman; four brothers, Ray, Leonard, Albert, and Bill Hoffman.
