Class of 1964 to have reunion meeting

Fairmont High School class of 1964 will have a 50th class reunion meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday at Rosen’s in Fairmont. All classmates that wish to help with the reunion planning are invited to attend.

Red Cross schedules blood drives

There will be two opportunities to donate blood in our area for the upcoming week. First, they will be from 1:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Salem Lutheran Church, 109 3rd St. SE, in Madelia. There will also be a chance to donate from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 305 E. 5th St., in Blue Earth. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply of blood for patients due to a decline in donations during the summer months. SMILES to host recreation event

SMILES Center for Independent Living will host an adaptive canoe and fishing recreation event for people with disabilities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 28, at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. Wilderness Inquiry will provide hands-on use of adaptive equipment by certified instructors. Assistance with transferring in and out of boats will be provided. The cost is $7 per person and does include a picnic lunch. Must pre-register by June 25.
