Fairmont High School class of 1945 and spouses will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday at Jake’s Pizza, Fairmont.

Fairmont Legion to hold Friday dinner

Fairmont American Legion will hold an all-you-can-eat fish dinner featuring Alaskan pollock from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Legion Post, 106 E. First St., Fairmont. The cost is $9 per person. Take-outs are available. This is open to the public.

Bridal shower planned for Saturday

An open house bridal shower honoring RoseAnn Tabatt, daughter of Theresa Tabatt and bride-to-be of Jeffrey Weihe, son of Lonnie and Connie Smith, and Tim and Karen Weihe, will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the fireside room at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Humane Society slates bake sale

Martin County Humane Society will hold a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Fleet and Farm, Fairmont. Anyone wishing to bring baked goods for this sale is asked to have them at Fleet and Farm by 8 a.m. that day. Proceeds will be used to care for homeless animals in Martin County that come to the animal shelter for Martin County Humane Society.

Exchange Club to burn flags

Fairmont Exchange Club, in cooperation with Fairmont American Legion Post 36 and Fairmont Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222, will have an official flag-burning ceremony 10 a.m. Saturday in the vacant lot at 411 E. Margaret St., in Fairmont. You can drop off faded or torn flags for disposal by Thursday at Legion, 106 E. First St., or the VFW Post, 1500 Albion Ave., in Fairmont.

Bridal shower to be held in Winnebago

An open house bridal shower for Katie Waltz, daughter of Duane and Sheila Waltz, and bride-to-be of Adam Wiederhoeft, son of Dale and Vickie Wiederhoeft, will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 121 First Ave. SE, in Winnebago. Friends and relatives are invited.

Martin Luther to host Sunday dinner

A grilled pork chop benefit dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. This will be a free-will offering. Proceeds will help support the educational ministry of the Lutheran high school. Everyone is invited. For more information, go to
