Kids to perform ‘Jungle Book’
TRUMAN – Saturday is Lewisville Fun Daze.
Come for the pancake and sausage breakfast; bake sale; tractorcade; kid’s pedal pull; bingo; kid’s games and entertainment; craft vendors; parade at 5 p.m.; steak fry; and DJ under the tent.
Enjoy a day of fun, food and summer fun.
Be sure to come to Truman’s Children’s Summer Theater production of “Jungle Book” at 7 p.m. Friday or 1 p.m. Saturday.
The children have been practicing, creating stage props, helping design costumes, learning choreography and songs for the performances for two weeks.
The jungle will be jumpin’ with their enthusiastic singing, dancing and performance.
Tickets are available from cast members and at the door.
Concessions will be sold before the performance.
For kids looking for something to do on Monday afternoons, come to the Truman Historical Museum from 1:30-2:30 p.m. each Monday in June, and July through Aug. 4 to play some “games of the past.”
Some games include spoons, cat’s cradle, beetle, dice, spinning tops, etc.
Marilyn Carrigan and Barb Grefe be will planning and providing materials to play games that children in the past played.
Come and learn.
Truman swimming pool hours are 1-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Monday through Sunday with water aerobics from 5-6 p.m Monday through Friday, and lap swim from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The first session of swimming lessons is June 23 to July 1.

A trip to the Works Museum for all children (K-6) and adults who would like to come and explore this interactive museum that makes learning about science and engineering fun can do this on June 25.

Bring your own sack lunch, sunscreen, water bottle and $10 fee.
Truman City Council meets 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.
Truman School Board will meet 6 p.m. Monday in the high school library. These meetings also are open to the public.
Truman Farmers Market is held every Friday (weather permitting) from 3-6 p.m. in front of the Napa store along Highway 15.
If you are a vendor and would like to sell, just come and set up and sell. There is no charge for selling.

There will be a bridal shower for RoseAnn Tabatt, bride-to-be of Jeffrey Weihe, from 9-11 a.m. June 21 in the Fireside Room at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman.
Jeff and RoseAnn will be married July 19, 2014. Parents of the couple are Theresa Tabatt of Fairmont, Connie and Lonnie Smith and Tim and Karen Weihe, all of Truman.
Amy Ringeisen, bride-to-be of Blake Crosby, will be honored at a bridal shower from 9:30-11:30 a.m. June 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. There will be a program at 9:45 a.m.
Amy and Blake will be married on July 19.
Parents of the couple are Ross and Jan Ringeisen from Truman, and Tom and Lisa Crosby from Sherburn.
