Lila Mae Theisen

FAIRMONT – Funeral service for Lila Mae Theisen, 82, of Fairmont, formerly of East Chain, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at East Chain United Methodist Church. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Chain United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery near East Chain.

Lila passed away Friday morning, May 30, 2014, at the Truman Senior Living.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements for the family.

Lila Mae (Wagar) Theisen was born March 26, 1932 in Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of William and Martha (Carpenter) Wagar. When Lila was a teenager she moved with her family to East Chain, Minn., where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Leon James Theisen in 1956. They lived in Dolliver, Iowa, for a short time, then moved to a farm near East Chain. They moved into Fairmont in 1993. In Lila’s early years, she worked at Fairmont Canning Company and, in her later years, she worked at Lakeview Methodist Healthcare Center. In April 2004, Lila entered the Truman Senior Living Center. Leon passed away April 19, 2006.

Lila was a member of the East Chain United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Upper Room Devotion book, gardening and especially being with her family.

Those who will cherish her memory include two sons, Tony Theisen and his wife, Carol, of Marshall, Minn., and their children, Jennifer and Andrew; Jerry Theisen of Burnsville, Minn.; brother-in-law, Melvin Theisen and his wife, Anita, of Fenton, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lila was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Wagar.
