United South Central golfers edge Blue Earth Area by 13

ELMORE – The United South Central Rebels boys golf team had four golfers shoot rounds under 50 to edge the Blue Earth Area Bucs 168-181 during nonconference action on Monday at Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore.

The Bucs’ Zach Curtis shot a meet-low 39 to earn medalist honors, but Ryan Pederson and Nate Pederson each scored 40s for USC.

Luke Monson and Connor Thielfoldt carded rounds of 45 and 48, respectively, for the Bucs, while Trevor Zierke completed the team score with a round of 49.

Zaine Stewart and Lane Anderson rounded out the Bucs’ efforts with scores of 51 and 52, respectively, in the meet.

The Pedersons topped the Rebel team score, but Seth Olson and Nick Neubauer’s rounds of 41 and 47 finished out the team scoring and gave them the winning edge in the dual meet.

Devon Archer carded a round of 50 to complete out the Rebels’ performance.

Blue Earth Area competes in the South Central Conference Meet at 9 a.m. today at Lakeside Golf Course in Waseca.

United South Central hosts Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Thursday at Oak View Golf Course.
