Waseca golfers down B.E. Area
ELMORE – Josh Kummerfeldt connected on 11 pars and one birdie to earn medalist honors in guiding the Waseca Bluejays to a 341-375 victory over the Blue Earth Area Bucs during South Central Conference golf action Tuesday at Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore.
Kummerfeldt sank a birdie putt on the sixth hole to highlight his 18-hole round of 38-40-78, while teammate Jordan Altman carded the dual meet’s second-lowest round at 46-39-85.
Keith Tuttle fired a round of 39-49-88, while Colin Worke delivered back-to-back 45s en route to a round of 90 to round out the Bluejays’ counting marks.
Zach Curtis netted a front-nine score of 47 before bouncing back with a 39 on the back nine to generate a team-low 86 for the Bucs. Curtis recorded a team-leading six pars to complement a birdie on No. 10.
Connor Thielfoldt sank two pars to pace his 48-45-93 for Blue Earth Area, teammate Trevor Zierke tallied three pars to fuel a 50-48-98, while Luke Monson notched two pars and sank a birdie on No. 15 to engineer his round of 50-48-98.
Lane Anderson chalked up one par to pace a round of 50-49-99 for the Bucs, while Tanner Wickersham notched three pars and birdied the seventh hole to highlight a round of 52-49-101.
Blue Earth Area faces Jackson County Central in a non-league dual meet at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Jackson Golf Club.
