Barry E. Ebeling
RED DEER, ALBERTA, Canada – A Celebration of Life service for Barry Edward Ebeling, 55, of Red Deer Alberta, formerly of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Community Covenant Church in Huntley, Minn. with Pastor Dennis Anders, officiating. A luncheon will follow. Burial with military honors will be 1:30 p.m. in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont Minn.
Barry went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, with his loving wife Karen by his side at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 26, at the Community Covenant Church in Huntley.
Barry Edward Ebeling was born Aug. 19, 1958, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Gaylord and Roselle Ebeling. He attended school in Fairmont, Minn., and received his GED while serving in the Navy. On Sept 4, 1975, Barry enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Barry served on the USS Dubuque, he served his country proudly, earning his honorable discharge on Sept. 3, 1981. Barry was an Eagle’s Club member from 1979-2009, and served as their president for four of those years. He worked for Fairmont Foods from 1981-2009. He loved his work at the Westerner Exposition Association in Red Deer Alberta. He also enjoyed small engine repair, wood projects, karaoke, triking, playing horseshoes and trips to Montana. He also enjoyed playing cards, Sudoku, Sequence, watching old westerns and musical movies.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Karen of Red Deer Alberta; his son, Lucas (Samantha) Ebeling of Fairmont, Minn.; step-daughter, Stephannie (Alan) Langager of Granada, Minn.; step-son, Shawn Mikkelson of Red Deer Alberta; nine siblings, Susan (Steve) Stoltenberg of Austin, Naomi (Ralph) Hurlburt of Akeley, Minn., Laura (Kim) Flohrs of rural Trimont, Minn., Bruce (Sharon) Ebeling of Waite Park, Minn., Debra (Tom) Haley of Pella, Iowa, Scott (Carol) Ebeling of Muscatine, Iowa, Betty Ebeling of Fairmont, Minn., Tyana (Ron) Richter of Mankato, Minn., and Dalena (Brett) Golinghorst of Sherburn, Minn.;granddaughter, Emersyn of Fairmont, Minn.; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Roselle Ebeling; brother, Bryan Ebeling; and sister, Kathleen Ebeling.
