Scouts offer thank you

To the Editor:

What an exciting and enjoyable day all Scouts and adults had at the North Star District Scout-O-Rama held April 12 at Five Lakes Centre in Fairmont.

The event was hosted by Troop and Pack 56 of Grace Lutheran Church, Fairmont. The public came to view Dutch-oven cooking, crafts, activities, games and displays that the Scouts worked on between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many also viewed the Pinewood Derby involving Cub Scouts from five counties of the North Star District. The derby consisted of the top car of first-place winners from each pack in the district.

The committee wishes to thank Nancy and her staff at Five Lakes Centre for all their great help and to the leaders and volunteers who helped set up the track and run the pinewood derby. Also, Dutch-oven cooking by John Frerichs; woodcarvers Chuck Northwick, Jerry Hanning and Dick Adams; and those who helped at the recruitment table, with unit displays, registration table, trading post, Order of the Arrow foodstand, setup and cleanup, and also to the Sentinel and Photo Press.
