Delia B. (Barchenger) Larsen Lueth was born Sept. 27, 1919, in Northrop, Minn., the daughter of Fred and Lena (Bokelmann) Barchenger. She graduated from Fairmont High School and furthered her education at Mankato State University, where she received her teaching degree. Dee became a rural public school teacher at the age of 18. She began her teaching career in Fraser Township District 59. That’s where she met Gordon Larsen around Christmas time in 1939. The couple was united in marriage on Jan. 28, 1945, at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, while Gordon was home on leave from the war. This union was blessed with three children, Samuel, Jacquelyn and Gregory. Dee and Gordon moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., until the end of the war when they moved back to Fairmont. Dee resumed teaching at Fraser School District 14, Lincoln School in Fairmont and Sherburn Elementary. She retired from teaching in 1979 due to health issues. Dee and Gordon shared over 46 years together before Gordon passed away in 1991. Dee was reunited with her high school sweetheart, Harold “Kleet” Lueth. They picked up where they left off years ago. After a brief courtship, Dee and Kleet were united in marriage on Dec. 7, 2000, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. The couple resided in Fairmont and shared 10 years together before Kleet passed away in April of 2010. Dee was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active with the Women of Grace. She also belonged to the Retired Teachers Association. During her free time she enjoyed gardening and sharing birthdays with the Birthday Club. Dee most loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are: her children, Samuel (Sue) Larsen of Minneapolis, Minn., Jacquelyn (Ramon) Gonzalez of Lake In The Hills, Ill., and Gregory (Barb) Larsen of Princeton, Minn.; grandchildren, Brent (Siobhan) Larsen of Excelsior, Minn., Margaret (Kevin) Floress of Savoy, Ill., Kirk Larsen of Minneapolis, Minn., Sean Bigelow of Rockford, Ill., Dane Larsen of Ft.
