Ag Industrial expands, relocates
FAIRMONT – Jim and Julie Hill are busy folks. These days they’re preparing for the grand opening of Ag Industrial/Fairmont RV at their new location on Highway 15 in Fairmont.
The Hills purchased TMeyer Outdoor Power Equipment from Tim Meyer earlier in January. Since then they have been moving operations from their former site on West Lake Avenue and setting up shop at their new store.
With the expansion, the Hills have had to hire two additional employees and fill out mounds of paperwork to become a dealership for the brands of lawnmowers and snowblowers they now carry.
“We thought it would be a good fit to expand our lawn and garden business and to gain visibility,” Jim Hill said.
The move might also provide some clarity into the variety of services and products the Hills have to offer.
The couple have been selling pressure washers to local pork producers for 32 years through Ag Industrial, and for 16 years, they sold and serviced campers and camper supplies as the owners of Fairmont RV.
“We’re still tied to that,” Jim Hill said. “We quit selling campers, but we’re still servicing them. We’re an official Keystone service center.”
That’s not all, though. The Hills also own Jim Manufacturing Inc., a 25-year-old company founded by Jim Hill when he invented a mobile brush wash system for semi-trailers, train cars and buses, and the family rents storage space out of the old Cashway Lumber building.
As it has in the past, Ag Industrial/Fairmont RV will continue to offer small-engine repair. The company’s main service technician is David Hill – Jim and Julie Hill’s son.
To celebrate their new and improved locale, the Hills are hosting their grand opening, beginning April 7 and running through the end of the month.
