Marcia L. Hanson
FAIRMONT – Services for Marcia L. Hanson, 61, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Marcia passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 13, 2014, at her home in Fairmont.
Marcia Leigh Droegemueller was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of Donald and Ardis (Stinchfield) Droegemueller. Marcia attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1971. She was united in marriage to David Hanson on May 2, 1992 in Stillwater, Minn.
Marcia worked many years at “On the Wall” in Fairmont until purchasing the Dairy Freeze in 2002. She put her heart and soul into building her business up and being a positive role model and influence on her beloved employees. She worked tirelessly each summer, happily bringing smiles to her customer’s faces. She also enjoyed her winters with her “Curves family.”
Marcia enjoyed suntanning and lawnchairs. She loved to travel with her husband to Mexico. Over the years, she was involved with the Hospice Tour of Tables, Civic Summer Theatre and Craft Club. Marcia was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont.
Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, David Hanson of Fairmont; three children, Cherry Malliet, Brady Malliet and Kate Malliet, all of Fairmont; stepchildren, Guy Hanson of Littleton, Colo., Tanya Hargan (Paul) of Fairmont, Lee Hanson (Nikki) of Welcome, Tarryne Hanson (Scott) of Fairmont; 13 grandchildren, Garrett, Trevor, Jeramiah and Jessica, Tiara, Tanner, Koral and Kaelyn, Barak, Taylor, Allyiah, Kainen and Eva; great grandson, William; mother, Ardis Droegemueller of Fairmont; brother, Mike Droegemueller (Nancy) of Fairmont; many nieces and nephews; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; other relatives and many friends.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Donald Droegemueller and her brother, Steve “Toad” Droegemueller.
