FAIRMONT – Funeral services for Rosalie L. “Rosie” Jensen, 75, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Interment will be held at a later date in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Rosie passed away on Saturday evening, Feb. 22, 2014, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorials are preferred to Heaven’s Table Food Shelf, 909 Winnebago Ave., Fairmont or to Heifer International (

Rosalie Lucille (Vetter) Jensen was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Fond du Lac, Wis., the daughter of Friedhold and Marcella (Kemnitz) Vetter. Rosie graduated from high school at the Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac. In 1963, Rosie was united in marriage to James “Jim” Jensen. The couple resided in Fredonia, Wis., where they loved sharing time together remodeling an old farm house. They moved to Fairmont, Minn., in 1984. This union was blessed with one daughter, Diana. Rosie and Jim shared 43 years together before Jim passed away on March 12, 2006.

Rosie worked as a title clerk and later as a title cxaminer in Wisconsin. After she and Jim moved to Fairmont, Rosie worked at the Fairmont Sentinel, first in the composition department and later as the circulation clerk. She worked at the Sentinel until her retirement on Oct. 16, 2003.

Rosie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont, where she was active with various committees as well as the Board of Outreach. She also enjoyed assisting Immanuel Lutheran residents of the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center get to chapel services. During her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, walking, reading and eating out. She especially loved the family vacations she shared with Jim and Diana to Washington D.C. and other places in the United States.

Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Diana Jensen Cramer and her husband, Laurence Cramer of Eugene, Ore.; brothers, Kurtis Vetter and his wife, Donna of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Gordon Vetter and his wife, Sally of New London, Wis.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, James Jensen; and her parents, Friedhold and Marcella Vetter.
