John Steven Kielblock was born Aug. 27, 1953, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Fred and Delores (Scheppmann) Kielblock. He attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School. John worked for over 20 years at REM as a maintenance technician. John was very set in his ways and didn’t like change. After receiving a DVD player at Christmas to replace his VHS player, John asked, “What am I going to do with that?” He loved old cars and found joy in restoring them. His pride and joy was his ’66 Chevy. John also enjoyed carpentry and was often found helping family and friends make repairs or remodeling their homes. He was a handyman who could fix anything. John loved spending time with his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. He also has a special place in his heart for the love of his life, Bonnie. John will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his happy-go-lucky attitude.
