LaVonne Harris

FAIRMONT – Funeral Service for LaVonne Harris, 83, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont with interment in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is in charge of arrangements.

LaVonne (Loewe) Harris was born on Jan. 1, 1931, in Fairmont, Minn. She was the daughter of August and Alice (Niemeyer) Loewe. She was baptized and later confirmed as a youth at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. LaVonne attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1948.

On May 2, 1954, LaVonne was united in marriage to Perry E. Harris at St. Paul Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with two children, Sandra and Steven. LaVonne and Perry resided in Fairmont where LaVonne was a homemaker as well as working at various local businesses as a secretary. They shared 59 years together.

LaVonne was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active with the LWML. She also enjoyed spending her time with her neighborhood “Sunshine Club” and hosting family holiday events. LaVonne most loved the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Perry Harris of Fairmont, Minn.; children, Sandra Graf and her husband, Jerry, of Amboy, Minn., and Steven Harris and his wife, Lynn, of Fairmont, Minn.; grandchildren, Jason Klous and his wife, Amy, of Luck, Wis., Crystal Hardinger and her husband, Mark, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Callie Pien and her husband, Stephen, of Detroit, Mich., Jason Harris and his wife, Jennifer, of Fairmont, Minn., Joshua Harris of Fairmont, Minn., and Courtney Harris of Minneapolis, Minn.; great-granddaughter, Alaina Harris; sister, Laurabelle Brockman and her husband, Eldon, of Northglenn, Colo.; brother, Max Loewe and his wife, Boni, of Walker, Minn.; sister-in-law, Wanda Ganske and her husband, Dale, of Mankato, Minn.; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, August and Alice Loewe.
