Magic tumble past St. Peter
ST. PETER – Martin County Area’s Bryanna Peterson scored an all-around total of 36.05 to pace the Magic to a 135.825-129.4 South Central Conference meet victory over the St. Peter Saints on Saturday at the St. Peter Armory.
Peterson scored her top mark of 9.25 on the uneven bars before rotating to the beam and floor exercise for 9.0 and 9.05 marks.
Peterson rounded out her top all-around performance with an 8.75 on the vault.
Martha Olson took the top-team finish on the vault with a 9.15, while Mackenzie Betts scored an 8.9 and Sydney Leichtnam landed an 8.65.
Maggie Bachenberg completed the Magic’s efforts on the vault, scoring an 8.425.
Olson finished second to Peterson on the floor, with a scored routine of 8.7.
Bachenberg added an 8.425 on the floor for the Magic, while Lexy Ringnell scored an 8.275 for her routine.
With Peterson’s 9.0 topping the Magic scores on the beam, Betts scored an 8.6 and both Jenna Steele and Maiya Dietz generated 7.65 marks.
On the bars, Andrea Thate landed her routine for an 8.075, while Briana Gratz recorded a mark of 8.05.
Sydney Leichtnam (7.05) and Michaela Twitchell (7.025) scored the other Magic marks on the uneven bars to complete the team’s winning efforts.
Martin County Area travels to compete in the SCC meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday in St. Peter.
