Ordinance the answer?

To the Editor:

To the people of Fairmont: I am wondering why Fairmont should have another ordinance.

Why don’t the people of Fairmont have a neighborhood watch instead? We must all start taking pride in our own neighborhoods. Not just by cutting the grass or shoveling the sidewalks. We all have a part in keeping our town fixed up.

People know what is going on in their neighborhood, not just the landlords. Everyone who rents or owns their home should take pride in their area.

Maybe the city could have a cleanup week. That way the neighbors could help their neighbors clean their property.
