Event turned out well

To the Editor:

The Fairmont Dollars for Scholars board of directors is so appreciative of the hardy (and hearty) Minnesotans who showed up on Monday, Jan. 20, at our annual chicken fundraising dinner to support our chapter and the scholarships it provides. Our gross earnings for the night were more than $6,700.

We’d also like to extend thanks to several organizations and people who helped make this evening go so smoothly. Pizza Ranch catered our dinner for the second year in a row. Its help beforehand and during the event was wonderful. “Loreo” and Lisa, you guys are great to work with.

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for the wonderful space and help with logistics. Thank you also to those who helped us publicize the event: St. John Vianney’s Dawn Petrowiak and other church secretaries, Olson Rental, Wells Federal Bank, First Farmers and Merchants Bank, the Sentinel, Photo Press and KSUM. Thank you also to HyVee for providing to-go bags and the bag stand, and McDonald’s for providing the orange drink and cups.

A special thank you to the students who worked the event and our student representatives, Aubrey Green and Peter Nielsen. We could never have done it without you.
