FAIRMONT – Services for Gordon Stahn, 84, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.
Gordon passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 2014, at Parker Oaks Care Center in Winnebago. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.
Gordon Robert Stahn was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Welcome, Minn., the son of Edward and Louise (Krahmer) Stahn. Gordon grew up in Welcome and graduated from high school in 1947. After his schooling, he worked in the insurance business and sales. On Sept. 26, 1964, he married Virginia Horseman. Every year, they would live in Fairmont part of the time and Browns Valley, Minn., part of the time and farmed near Browns Valley. He retired from farming in 1993 and they lived in Fairmont all year round.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Horseman of Fairmont; two sons, Doug Stahn of Marion, Ill., and Steve Stahn of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Natasha Meyer and her husband, Jud, of Buffalo, Minn.; one great-granddaughter; sister, Helen Gersch and her husband, Ed of Fairmont, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Louise Stahn; one brother, Donald Stahn; and one sister, Charlotte Stein.
