SHERBURN – Funeral services for Walter E. Waldron, 95, of Sherburn, Minn., will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Kramer Family Funeral Home Chapel in Sherburn, Minn., with Pastor Steven D. Wilson, officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post 356 and the Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8261, will be in Welcome City Cemetery.

Walter was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday morning, Dec. 10, 2013, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, Minn. Visitation will be noon until the time of the funeral services at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn.

Walter Edward Waldron was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Sherburn, Minn., to Robert and Demia (Putman) Waldron. Walter attended country school in District 70 and later graduated with the class of 1937. He then farmed in Jay Township. On Sept. 22, 1942, he entered the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge on Feb. 2, 1946. Walter returned to the farm in Jay Township and later farmed in Elm Creek Township in Martin County, Minn., until moving into Sherburn in the early 1980s. Walter enjoyed working on and fixing watches, traveling and watching television and spending time with his special friend, Fanny Tenhoff.

Survivors include his niece, Wanda (Roger) Nordhausen of rural Sherburn, Minn.; other relatives and friends.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; special friend, Fanny Tenhoff; two sisters, Mildred Lade and Mae Intlekofer; and other relatives.
