Alpha-1 event was well-supported
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Alpha-1 Foundation, and the Alphas in our community, we want to thank you for supporting “Get the Scoop on Alpha-1,” our fourth annual Fairmont awareness and fundraising event.
So many thanks go out to our family, friends and our community. We had another successful event; we met the goals we set; and we had a great day visiting with everyone.
A special thank you to the Fairmont Raceway for recognizing the Alpha-1 family and helping with raising awareness and money at the races on Friday, Sept. 27. What a great way to show your community you care. Also, thank you to our entertainer, Steve Lang. Another awesome job.
A thank you also goes out to Jason Subbert, a classmate, past neighbor and family friend. He was the lucky winner of the $500 raffle ticket money, and he gave it all back to the Alpha-1 Foundation.
Our list of thank-yous is overwhelming. Whether you provided an item for our auction, supported the foundation with a monetary gift, bought raffle tickets, or came and had an ice cream cone/hot dog and showed your support, it all means so much. It truly helped defray costs associated with the event and supported the research and efforts of the foundation. Its mission is to provide leadership and resources that will result in increased research, improved health, worldwide detection and a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
We are extremely grateful for your generosity and are looking forward to the “Get the Scoop on Alpha-1” in 2014.
Pray for a Cure!
