Blue Earth Area tennis lineup shuts out New Ulm

BLUE EARTH – The Blue Earth Area Bucs girls tennis team coasted to straight-set victories at all seven spots in the lineup to sweep the New Ulm Eagles, 7-0, during a South Central Conference dual meet Monday at Schroeder Courts in Blue Earth.

No. 1 singles netter Karleigh Wolff wasted little time in downing Maya Sarkar by a 6-2, 6-0 decision.

Kaitlyn Olsen lost only one game in two sets, producing a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Miriam Jakel at the second singles position.

Lindsey Prokop improved upon her Buc teammates’ performances by shutting out Taylor Bolduan, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 3 spot in the bracket.

Anikka Wilhelmi capped Blue Earth Area’s singles sweep by rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Rose Dobie at the fourth position in the lineup.

Karli Olsen and Natali Fellows combined court skills at No. 1 doubles to pocket a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Emma Vranich and Gracelyn Sarkar.

Kali Viland and Paige Darrington teamed at second doubles to post a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Samy Guyman and Jane Arnoldt.

Lacey Benz and Annaliese Klinkner then combined at the third spot in the doubles bracket to deliver a 6-3, 6-0 loss to Mattea Sievert and Sicily Trullinger.

Blue Earth Area (11-4, 2-2 SCC) plays host to Waseca at 4:30 p.m. today in another conference dual meet at Schroeder Courts in Blue Earth.
