TRUMAN – Funeral services for Selma Greiner, 102, of Truman, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Antrim. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Antrim.
Selma passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Fairmont. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, Sept. 5, at Zaharia Family Funeral Home, Truman, and one hour prior to services Friday at church.
Selma Lydia Kopischke, was born Sept. 29, 1910, in Vernon Center Township, Blue Earth County, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Urban) Kopischke. She was baptized Oct. 2, 1910, and confirmed April 13, 1924, at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Willow Creek in rural Vernon Center. She began her education at St. John’s Lutheran School and finished in Public School. She married Elmer Greiner on May 3, 1936. He preceded her in death in 2005. She lived almost her entire life on the farm but in 2003, she moved into Truman Senior Living where she resided until the time of her death.
Selma is survived by her son, DuWayne and wife, Vickie, of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Jeff (Carol) Greiner and Lisa Hagstrom; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents; and a sister, Louetta.
