Trudy A. Harmon

BLUE?EARTH?- Trudy A. Harmon, aged 67, of Blue Earth passed away peacefully on Sept. 1, 2013, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Trudy was born Jan. 13, 1946, to Roger W and Helen J (Jamieson) Duncan in Monterey, Calif. She grew up in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1964. During the 1960s Trudy danced with a Scottish Dancing group from Mapleton and participated in multiple area events. Trudy attended X-ray school at Hennepin County Hospital in Minneapolis and lived in Fridley prior to moving to Germany.

Trudy returned to the U.S.A. and, in 1971, took a position at 3M in Fairmont which she held for 13 years, and then later went to work for Dorendorf Jewelry in Blue Earth. On Jan. 9, 1988, Trudy married Dean Harmon in their home town of Blue Earth. They owned and operated Roy Deans Steak House, where she had the pleasure of nightly greetings to friends and families from the Blue Earth area.

Trudy was a ruling elder and directed the choir at First Presbyterian Church and later became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her brother, Steve Duncan, of Lake City, Fla.; sister, Pamela Patton, of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Jason Nyberg, his wife, Sarah (Reichelt) Nyberg, granddaughter Avia Grace Nyberg (3) of Boise Idaho; granddaughters, Veronika Nyberg (22), Sydney Nyberg (20) of Winter Park, Fla.; niece, Sarah Thormodson-Taylor; great niece, Bailey Rose Taylor of Branford, Fla.; and Dean’s son, Dean Harmon Jr. and family of Sykesville, Md.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Duncan, and Arvin and Helen Stenehjem; her beloved husband, Dean Harmon; her son, Tyler Nyberg,; and infant grandson of Tyler, Christopher Nyberg.

Trudy will be remembered most for her loving nature and infectious smile.
