Reinhardt Wessel

TRUMAN – Funeral services for Reinhardt Wessel, 91, of Truman, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Truman with Rev. Nathan Rusert officiating. Interment with military honors by Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County VFW Post 1222, will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Truman.

Reinhardt died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at his home in Truman. Visitation will be held one hour before the services Saturday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service of Truman.

Reinhardt Adolf Otto Wessel was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Fairmont, Minn., to Edward and Amanda (Nolte) Wessel. He was baptized on Dec. 26, 1921, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairmont and confirmed April 14, 1935, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. On Aug. 28, 1960, Reinhardt was united in marriage to Kathleen Klein at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman.

Reinhardt is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of Truman; one daughter, Emily Wessel (Robert Fritsch); four sons, Jonathan Wessel (Patricia), Christopher Wessel (Cynthia), Anthony Wessel, and Elliott Wessel (Ann); seven grandchildren; one sister, Luella Jurgenson; three brothers, Loren Wessel, Edward Wessel Jr. and Howard Wessel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elfrieda Turnmire; and three brothers, Harold Wessel, Walter Wessel and Roger Wessel.
