Jeffrey L. Rippel

LINCOLN, Neb. – A Celebration of Life Service for Jeffrey L. Rippel, 61, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Trimont, Minn., will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Jeff passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his home in Lincoln, Neb. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, and continue until the time of service at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jeffrey Lynn Rippel was born Nov. 20, 1951, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Kenneth and Verona (Beck) Rippel. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont, Minn., and attended school in Trimont graduating from Trimont High School in 1969. Following his graduation, Jeff attended Worthington Community College and later attended Vocational College in Minneapolis. While living in Minneapolis, Jeff was married and later moved to Nebraska, where he was blessed with a daughter, Jennifer. While in Nebraska, Jeff worked for Super Saver Grocery Store as a manager of the receiving department. In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed going for walks early in the morning to watch the sunrise. He also enjoyed watching beautiful sunsets. During his walks, Jeff paid close attention to the birds and treasured spotting one he had not seen before. He was an avid sports fan and looked forward to cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Jeff cherished time spent with his daughter, Jennifer, and grandson, Preston. He loved visiting with family and friends and collecting coins.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jennifer Conway and her husband, Cody, of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandson, Preston Conway; father, Kenneth Rippel of Winnebago, Minn.; sister, Jackie Lorenzen of Fairmont, Minn.; brother, Joel Rippel of Minneapolis, Minn.; a niece; a nephew; an aunt, Mavis Persson and her husband, Don, of Bloomington, Minn.; as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Verona Rippel; maternal and paternal grandparents; a brother-in-law, Don Lorenzen; and several aunts and uncles.
