Pearl M. Klint

FAIRMONT – Memorial services for Pearl M. Klint, 94, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will follow the service in Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont.

Pearl passed away Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2013, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pearl Mayvis (Reed) Klint was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Vernon Center, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Emma (Pahl) Reed. As a young girl, Pearl moved with her family to Mankato, Minn., where she attended school and graduated from Mankato High School. On Dec. 18, 1937, Pearl was united in marriage to Virgil “Pat” E. Klint in Northwood, Iowa. Together, the couple made their home in Mankato, Minn., where they were blessed with seven children:?Darlene, Darrell, Patricia, Ronald, Sherry, Sandra and Barbara. Pearl worked for many years in retail sales and later worked as a secretary for Volk Transfer in Mankato until her retirement in 1980. Following their retirement, Pearl and Pat moved to Mission, Texas, and later returned to Fairmont, Minn., to be closer to family. Pearl was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato as well as a member of TOPS and the Prairie Star Quilters. In her spare time, Pearl enjoyed sewing, quilting, golfing and working on oil paintings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Darlene (Al) Parks of Fairmont, Minn., Darrell “Dan” (Vickie) Klint of Henderson, Nev., Patricia (Bob) Witty of Fairmont, Minn., Ronald (Ruth) Klint of Portland, Ore., Sherry (Gary) Turtle of Sarasota, Fla., Sandra (Jerry) George of Sun City West, Ariz., and Barbara “Bobbie” Teske and special friend, Michael Barnett of Minneapolis, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; a sister, Melva Huebner of St. Peter, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Alice Madsen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Chas and Emma Reed; husband, Virgil “Pat” Klint; brothers, Willard Reed, Burnell “Bud” Reed and Dean Reed; sisters, Mayvis Reed and Opal Reed; sister-in-law, Audrey Reed; and a granddaughter, Karae Klint.
