SUPERIOR, Wis. – Ina Erickson, 74, of Superior, Wis., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, during the early hours of Saturday, July 13, 2013. We will be celebrating her life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at 379 Freeman Road, Cloquet, Minn. (Mike and Janna Vaineo’s home).
Ina was born May 9, 1939, in Cloquet, Minn., to Chester and Helvi (Mattson) Christenson. She worked most of her life in geriatrics and received a degree in nursing from Iowa Lakes Community College. She lived and worked in Cloquet; Brookston Minn.; KI Sawyer AFB, Mich.; Lakenheath AFB, England; Fairmont, Minn.; Rapid City S.D.; Fort Myers, Fla.; and Superior, Wis. She enjoyed gardening, RV’ing and numerous crafts. She had a keen, artistic ability for detail in all her art work. She relaxed with historical and sci-fi movies as well as electronic games. She had a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found peace in butterflies and Luke her cat. She was a member of Mission Covenant Church, Poplar. Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; son Terry Erickson; granddaughter, Andrea Vaineo; son-in-law, Wayne Hanson; and brother, Gerald.
Ina is survived by her children, Rey “Wally” (Brenda) Carlson, Janna (Mike Vaineo), Laurie Carlson, Mike Erickson, Tim (Debbie) Erickson, Tamara Hanson, Todd Erickson and Mary Stayton; 15 grandchildren and 12 3/4 great-grandchildren; brothers, John, Chester Jr., Rick (Joan), Mike (Patricia); and sisters, Ione (Les) and Mary; many nieces and nephews.
