Maxine Mildred Anderson was born October 10, 1930, near Huntley, Minn., the daughter of Howard and Grace (Chance) Anderson. She attended country school south of Fairmont and then graduated from Fairmont High School in 1950. On October 17, 1951, Maxine was united in marriage to Lyle Maschoff. After Lyle’s discharge from the Army they settled in Fairmont and raised two children, Gary and Lori. In 2011 they moved to the Twin Cities to be closer to family.

Maxine cared deeply for others. As the eldest daughter of a large family, she helped to raise her siblings and was a care-giver to her parents in their later years. Her long years of dementia could not diminish her sense of humor and empathy. The outpouring of affection from Clare Bridge staff and residents confirmed her ability to continue to touch the hearts of those surrounding her.

Maxine was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years and had been active in Circle and Ladies Aid. Maxine and Lyle’s love of golf led to many close, life-long friendships both in Fairmont as well as during their winters spent in Florida. They also enjoyed friends and family while pontooning on Fairmont lakes. Maxine’s other joys were home-making, gardening and bicycling.

Those that will cherish her memory include her husband, Lyle Maschoff of Eagan, Minn.; son, Gary Maschoff and his wife, Beth, of Woodbury, Minn.; daughter, Lori MaschoffFox and her husband, Daniel, of Westcliffe, Colo.; two grandsons, Zachary and Dillon Fox of Colorado; sisters, Arlene Hewett and her husband, Jim, of North Mankato, Elaine Wieskus and her husband, Joe, of Jackson, Sharon Niss and her husband, Darb, of Eagle Lake, Audre Anderson of Truman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Anderson of Fairmont, Wally Reineke of St. Peter, Arlen Maschoff of Jackson, Leon (Lee) and Beverly Maschoff of Corrales, N.M.; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
