Fun Fest seeking competitors
TRIMONT – A new focus at Trimont Fun Fest this year will be the Bean Bag tournament open to ages 21 and over.
According to Cara Sinn, one of the festival organizers, the committee decided to try a bean bag tournament since they have grown in popularity in recent years.
“We’re limiting it to 100 teams, and I hope we get 100 teams,” Sinn said.
The competition is for those 21 and older due to the event being held in the beer garden on the evening of July 12.
There is a $20 registration fee per team. Winnings available for the bean bag tournament will depend on how many registrations are received, but contestants will see the majority of funds redistributed as winnings.
“We haven’t had much of a Friday evening event in years,” Sinn said. “So we’re really excited about this.”
A second bean bag tournament for ages 12-20 will be held Saturday, with divisions from ages 12-15 and 16-20. Ages can be mixed, but the older age will determine the team’s division. The teen bean bag tournament also has a $20 per team registration fee. There must be at least two people per team for both tournaments.
Registration for the bean bag tournament can be completed online at trimontfunfest.com, or can be mailed in at Trimont FunFest Bean Bag Tournament, Box 388, Trimont, MN, 56176. Names of participants and a contact number must be included.

Sinn also noted the carnival will be back at Fun Fest this year, and the unlimited rides wristbands are available now for $20.
“We only have 250 of those, and we will probably sell out like we did last year,” she said. “There will be wristbands available from J&K Amusements, but those are only good for the day of the purchase, while these that we are selling are good for the entire weekend.”
Wristbands are on sale now at Farmers State Bank of Trimont, Triumph State Bank and Welcome TV in Welcome.
