WELCOME – Celebration of Life services for Velma Andersen, 93, of rural Welcome, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome, Minn., with Rev. Susan Lester officiating. Burial will be in Welcome City Cemetery in Welcome, Minn.
Velma was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday morning, May 28, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Welcome, Minn., and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church in Welcome.

Velma Margaret Minnie Hill was born on Jan. 12, 1920, in Welcome, Minn., the adopted daughter of Howard and Jennie Hill. On June 4, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clarence Andersen at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont, Minn. After their marriage, they farmed in Fox Lake Township and raised their family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Andersen of Fairmont, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Joan Andersen of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Butch Rowan of Granada, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Velaski, Bryan Andersen, Cory Andersen, Erin Andersen, Kellen Andersen, Angie Scheff and Andy Rowan; nine great-grandchildren, Carson Velaski, Doran Velaski, Luke Velaski, Charlotte Andersen, Kylan, Colsan and Keatan Andersen, Kimberlie and Katelyn Scheff; half brother, Glen and Elaine Borchardt of Comfrey, Minn.; sister-in-law, LaVonne Villa of Westbrook, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jennie Hill; her half sisters, Joyce Voth and Shirley Axford; two sisters-in-law; and other relatives.
