Milo ‘Mike’ Belshan

NORTHWOOD, Iowa – Funeral services for Milo “Mike” Belshan, 90, of Northwood, Iowa, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Myrtle. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Glenville, with military honors performed by a local servicemen’s organization, VFW and American Legion.

Belshan died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Albert Lea. Visitation will be one hour prior to services today at the church. Bayview Funeral Home of Albert Lea is in charge of arrangements.

Milo Belshan was born Dec. 14, 1922, northwest of Myrtle, son of Louis A. and Josephine (Benesh) Belshan. A World War II veteran of the South Pacific, he spent 2.5 years with the 163rd Infantry 41st Division Jungleers.

Survivors include: daughter, Marilyn Carrigan of rural Granada; sons, Michael Belshan of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Dan Belshan of rural Myrtle; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
