Daffodil help appreciated

To the Editor:

The totals for the 2013 Daffodil Days sales for Martin County are in. After expenses, Martin County sales finished with $10,972 raised for the American Cancer Society.

On behalf of the American Cancer Society, we want to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers and supporters for helping to make Daffodil Days such a success. Thank you to Dollar Tree, Five Lakes Centre, Fareway and Hy-Vee for the use of their facilities; also thank you to the sponsors for helping defray our daffodil expenses.

Thanks to the contact volunteers in all the Martin County communities for their help; also to J&R Drug Gift and Floral for delivering the Gift of Hope bouquets to cancer patients.

The cooperation of so many people in giving of their time and money will increase the awareness of the public to local programs provided by volunteers and professionals in the fight against cancer.

American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
