New Ulm nets win over BEA
BLUE EARTH – The New Ulm Eagles swept the singles bracket to pace a 6-1 victory over the Blue Earth Area Bucs during South Central Conference boys tennis action Thursday at Schroeder Courts.
Ben Gettis and Martin Granados combined for a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Billy Griffith and John Goodall at No. 2 doubles to account for the Bucs’ lone point.
Alex King posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Cole Klinksiek at first singles, while Eagles’ teammate Cal Collum netted a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Hunter Myers at No. 2 singles.
Josh Koelpin edged Eric Purvis, 6-3, 6-4, at third singles, while Noah Stocker outlasted Jaron King at the No. 4 spot, 4-6, 7-5, 6-0.
Isaiah Johnson and Nic Gartner combined for straight love set wins over Trenton Stindtman and Chandler Kienitz at No. 1 doubles, while Taylor Tambornino and Dave Stuk teamed for back-to-back 6-0 set victories over Spenser Timmerman and Mason Hehr at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.
Blue Earth Area (0-2, 0-2 SCC) travels to Fairmont on Tuesday.
