St. Peter nets win over BEA

BLUE EARTH – The St. Peter Saints produced straight-set victories across Schroeder Courts to sweep the Blue Earth Area Bucs, 7-0, during South Central Conference boys tennis action on Tuesday in Blue Earth.

Nathan Huber netted back-to-back 6-1 set wins over Hunter Myers during first singles action, while Matthew Huber outlasted Eric Purvis at the No. 2 spot in the singles bracket, 6-4, 6-3.

Zeke Haugen posted a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Chance Andrews at third singles, while Joey More completed the Saints’ singles sweep by netting a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Jaron King at the No. 4 spot in the lineup.

Ben Gault and Alex Willson combined forces at first doubles to pocket back-to-back 6-0 set wins over Ben Gettis and Martin Granados, while St. Peter teammates Nels Kallaus and Avery Bachman chalked up a 6-0, 6-4 decision over Chandler Kienitz and Trenton Stindtman at second doubles.

Noah Adamson and Drew Elofson capped the Saints’ doubles sweep by serving a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Mason Hehr and Spenser Timmerman at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.

Blue Earth Area (0-1, 0-1 SCC) is scheduled to travel to St. James today for a 4:30 p.m. conference dual meet.
