Frieda L. Willard

FAIRMONT – Funeral Service for Frieda L. Willard, 99, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Frieda passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 26, 2013, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont.

Frieda Lenore (Rahmeyer) Willard was born May 8, 1913, in Cook City, Ill. She was the daughter of Fred and Johanna (Benders) Rahmeyer. She attended Fairmont Township country school.

In 1936, Frieda was united in marriage to Lowell Willard in Welcome, Minn. The couple resided in Fairmont, where Frieda worked at Stokely Van Camp until her retirement in 1978. This union was blessed with three children: Larry, Robert and Roger. Frieda and Lowell shared 39 years together before Lowell passed away in 1975.

Frieda was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont, where she was very active in many capacities including the Ladies Aid and LWML. During her free time, she enjoyed crafts, gardening, sewing and baking. She most loved spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Roger Willard and his wife, Sylvia, of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Lois Willard of Fairmont, Minn.; grandchildren, Carmen Willard, Kim Tobin, Tonia Kahler, Gina Willard, Jackie Jersak, Jodi Bergmanis, Tammy Plumhoff, Debbie Jensen, Kip Willard, Mike Willard, and Laurie Olson; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Fred and Johanna Rahmeyer, Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Willard; sons, Larry and Robby Willard; sisters, Amelia Rahmeyer and Loretta Luedke; and brothers, Walter Rahmeyer, Ervin “Dutch” Rahmeyer, Fred “Bud” Rahmeyer, Arthur Rahmeyer, and Lawrence Rahmeyer.
