Red Rock offers thanks

To the Editor:

Kudos to the residents of Martin County and the surrounding area who supported the Red Rock Center for the Arts during the 2012 season. Visual and performing arts and a variety of art workshops were offered and well attended.

At the end of the year, we launched our Step Up for Red Rock Campaign. This appeal for funds was to upgrade the parking lot surface and drainage and to replace the front steps. Both projects were necessary, due to deterioration, to provide safe access to the Red Rock Center. The parking lot project is complete and the steps will be replaced this spring.

Martin County Preservation Association board of directors and staff are pleased to announce that our goal was reached by the end of December. We thank each person who contributed toward these projects. Your gift was essential and greatly appreciated. As promised, everyone who contributed $250 or more is acknowledged on a Step Up for Red Rock name plate at Red Rock Center.

We do want to thank the following artists for contributing their talents in order to promote contributions toward the Step Up Campaign: Jason Engquist, David Winkworth, Bill Busse, Joyce Schultz, Sandy Ettesvold, Deeanne Helfritz, Stan Sundberg, Steve Lang, Brothers In Grace, Grace Notes and the Fairmont Community Choir.

You are invited to visit our website or watch for advertising and join us at the Red Rock Center for an event that interests you. The board and staff appreciate your patronage as we work to preserve and make accessible our heritage of fine architecture.

Respectfully submitted for the Martin County Preservation Association board of directors.

Sandy Meschke,
