Dorothy F. Krohn

SHERBURN – A Service of Remembrance for Dorothy F. Krohn, 94, of rural Sherburn, Minn., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dunnell with Pastor Nancy Isaacson officiating. A private family burial will be in Lake Fremont Cemetery in rural Dunnell, Minnesota.

Dorothy was called to her eternal rest on Friday morning, Jan. 11, 2013, at Ingleside Assisted Living in Fairmont, Minn. Messages of sympathy may be sent online to the family at

Dorothy Florence Peterson was born March 31,1918, to Elmer and Florence (Conner) Peterson in Jay Township, Martin County, Minn. She attended country school in Jay Township and graduated from Sherburn High School in 1936. Dorothy then attended Mankato Teachers College. She was united in marriage to Erban Krohn on June 18, 1941, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell, Minn. After their marriage, they lived on Dorothy’s parents farm in Jay Township where Dorothy taught school in rural Martin County schools while Erban was serving in the U.S. Army. They continued farming in Jay Township until retiring, remaining on the farm which is farmed today by their son, James. Erban died on Dec. 8, 2001. Dorothy continued living on the farm until November 2011, when she became a resident of Ingleside Assisted Living in Fairmont. Dorothy was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dunnell and belonged to several of it’s organizations.

Survivors include her children: son, John (Julie) Krohn of Minneapolis, Minn., son, James (Sheryl) Krohn of rural Sherburn, Minn., son, Paul (Bev) Krohn of Elmhurst, Ill., and daughter, Janet (Keith) Robinson of Glendive, Mont.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erban Krohn; brothers Wayne and Robert Peterson; sisters, Eva, Gladys and Helen and other relatives.
